Poets of the Fall – Pumpehuset, Copenhagen September 6th, 2022
Beautiful, beautiful Copenhagen… isn’t it how the saying goes? Whether it is or not, Copenhagen is absolutely stunning ❤️. A few days before Poets of the Fall’s gig at Pumpehuset, I visited a little and I was blown away. The serenity I felt in this city filled me with joy. My friend Ana was not only the best company, but also the best guide 🥰. I’ll spare you the details of my visit, but suffice it to say that I went on a boat tour, saw the Tivoli by day and almost night and wandered the streets a bit. The day of the gig, we went on a nice walk…
Poets of the Fall, Ghostlight – seitsemän, Firedancer
Firedancer is the brilliant opening to Ghostlight, Poets of the Fall 9th studio album which was released on April 29th. The song is musically and lyrically stunning, from the intro’s spoken words to the very last notes easing the listener smoothly into the next track -Requiem for my Harlequin. As always, the lyrics can and should be understood in our own way. No right or wrong, just Marko’s red thread showing a glimmer of what could be his meaning. Like he said in his interview on Radio Rock (Finland, 02/04/2022): “My lyrics are meta-level lyrics so the listeners can understand them in their own way. There’s an idea in the…
Ghostlight – Poets of the Fall Masterpiece
The long awaited Poets of the Fall 9th studio album, Ghostlight, has landed in mailboxes all over the world and on most streaming platforms. I received the CD one day before its release date. The package was rather big as I ordered some extra merch’ 😅. I only unwrapped the CD though and after some struggles to get my CD player working, I poured myself a glass of Pinot Gris – sorry no Beaujolais for me. I put on my jacket, grabbed a blanket and headphones on, I sat on the balcony. I was ready. Wrapped in my blanket, I pressed play and started to listen as the sun danced…
Happy 18th Birthday Poets of the Fall
Poets of the Fall turns 18, today! Our Poets have finally reached majority…now, what that would mean “in the eyes of the law”, I leave to your own fantasy. 18 years is incidentally how long I have been living in Sweden (give or take a couple of weeks) 😏. The Poets family is celebrating all over the world… cakes were made and I believe Marko (probably the entire band actually) would love to have a bite 😋 I know I would! 18 years of age, 11 albums later ( counting The Alexander Theatre Sessions, Live in Moscow 2013 and Alchemy Vol. 1) the band is, I assume, working on No.…
Poets of the Fall – Stay Forever
It doesn’t take much to feel overjoyed these days, but Stay Forever got the palm for me on this fine Monday of March. Do you know… Poets of the Fall stunned me again! Stay Forever has come at the most opportune time once more. I’ve only just realized that, mind you, but I’ll say it again Stay, the oddest of cues. While some things I wrote four years ago don’t completely apply to yours truly today, I find that Marko‘s whispers continue to taunt me in the kindest of ways. It’s the little things, little things, little things That make the world. From Stay to Stay Forever As I understand…
Poets of the Fall – Rebirth 2020
Rebirth… the song I wake up to every morning; Rebirth… the song one of my friends call sad & hopeless, but which I cannot help feeling joy and warmth when I hear it… Rebirth: the song that I cannot be without, ever. I’ve been working on this article for over a week, and it has never been so hard to write about a Poets of the Fall song. There is something strange at work when Rebirth is playing. I have been listening to the song a whole morning but I’ve been drawing a blank… like being numb. This is the only song from Poets of the Fall that has such…
