Poets of the Fall – Viking Line, Vogue Club, Turku-Stockholm November 19th, 2022
Where are you going? – they hailed, as I ran passed them. I am going on an adventure! – I shouted back and waved at whomever yelled the question – obviously, this was happening in my head 😅. You never know when the time is ripe for you to experience something new. Life has taught me that when you are ready, your actions to make new experiences happen speak volumes about you and your state of mind at that moment. I work hard in that sense even though I often take long breaks in-between great milestones, I still work hard. Nothing worth gaining comes easy and I don’t know any other…
Poets of the Fall – Back to Le Trabendo, Paris September 25th, 2022
How do you prepare for a Poets of the Fall gig? 🙃 Personally, I like to reminisce about the previous one I attended… It was a while ago, September 2022 in Paris at the brilliant venue Le Trabendo. The band who stole my heart years ago, playing in my home country – though I don’t live there anymore, could not miss them there so I went again. It has become a bit of a tradition. This is the third time Poets of the Fall performs on the French stage. This made the show even more special to me, as you can imagine. Le Trabendo Le Trabendo, happily situated in Parc…
Ghostlight, interview with Marko Saaresto
Today I feel blessed and incredibly lucky, because today I had the honor of getting an interview with Marko Saaresto, the gifted singer and lyricist of the fabulous Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall. He took some time, in his busy schedule, to answer my spur of the moment questions. Like many of you, I have – this past week – lived vicariously through the live photos and short videos our friends posted on social media from the gigs in Germany and Prague. I have avidly read over and over Marko‘s Tour diaries and marveled at how his mind works. It takes one to know one, I suppose… not…
Poets of the Fall – Pumpehuset, Copenhagen September 6th, 2022
Beautiful, beautiful Copenhagen… isn’t it how the saying goes? Whether it is or not, Copenhagen is absolutely stunning ❤️. A few days before Poets of the Fall’s gig at Pumpehuset, I visited a little and I was blown away. The serenity I felt in this city filled me with joy. My friend Ana was not only the best company, but also the best guide 🥰. I’ll spare you the details of my visit, but suffice it to say that I went on a boat tour, saw the Tivoli by day and almost night and wandered the streets a bit. The day of the gig, we went on a nice walk…
Poets of the Fall – Vanha, Helsinki May 27th 2022
Almost 2,5 years since I last had the pleasure and privilege to attend a Poets of the Fall show. My last gig was October 2019 in Paris… but now I am back in beautiful Helsinki for my very first Ghostlight Tour concert -though I could have done without the damp and somewhat chilly weather. Attending a Poets’ show is an incomparable event in itself, however, it becomes even bigger when you’ve got to travel from another country. I know some of us have. My “Poets trips” are always eventful, and this time was no exception. My train to the airport was partially cancelled, which pushed me to drive there instead…
Poets of the Fall, Ghostlight – seitsemän, Firedancer
Firedancer is the brilliant opening to Ghostlight, Poets of the Fall 9th studio album which was released on April 29th. The song is musically and lyrically stunning, from the intro’s spoken words to the very last notes easing the listener smoothly into the next track -Requiem for my Harlequin. As always, the lyrics can and should be understood in our own way. No right or wrong, just Marko’s red thread showing a glimmer of what could be his meaning. Like he said in his interview on Radio Rock (Finland, 02/04/2022): “My lyrics are meta-level lyrics so the listeners can understand them in their own way. There’s an idea in the…
