Poets of the Fall – Black Waters – The 13th Symphony
Black Waters is the song I did not know I needed, soothing like a calming balm on my restless soul. The thirteenth symphony of Carnival of Rust grew patiently so that it could become this fine golden thread wrapping Poets of the Fall trilogy of trilogies. Yet, according to Marko (24.04.2026 on Finnish television) lyrics and melody have not changed much since the birth of Black Waters. Am I seeing what isn’t there then, or did they already know the path they were about to follow? Quite the foresight, if you ask me. No End, No Beginning You know how Beyond the Horizon felt like a goodbye in the face…
Poets of the Fall – Echoes of the Carnival – 20 Years, Carnival of Rust
Carnival of Rust is to me what Late Goodbye is to the majority of Poets of the Fall‘s fans: an absolute and undeniable classic. My eyes discovered the incredible creativity of the band before my ears could understand what they were listening to. Since then, I never looked back, despite the doubts and mood swings throwing unapologetic punches at my heart through the years. Carnival of Rust is the song that started it all for me, or rather rekindled a flame I did not know was burning out and, I could never express well enough how grateful I am to Poets of the Fall. Echoes of the Carnival Oddly enough,…

Following the announcement of Echoes of the Carnival Anniversary Tour 2026, and in anticipation of a certain singer’s birthday on December 5th, Misfit Heart had to pop her head out into the world again 🥰 and welcome Poets of the Fall back to Center Stage. Hi Marko, Long time no see!!! 😍 [Marko] Hi Claire, good to hear from you, hope you are doing well. [Claire] I am doing very well thank you for asking 😅. Poets of the Fall, Ghostlight – Yhdeksän, Hello Cabaret
Poets of the Fall‘s ninth studio album, Ghostlight, released in 2022, is filled with gems that build up to my favorite song: Hello Cabaret. As I said, I won’t let go… Ghostlight is a masterpiece and as much as this is true, Hello Cabaret got me on an entire other level. It struck a chord within that left me numb and in utter awe even to this day. Why then did it take so long for me to write about it? Maybe because there are some truths we’d rather not face at once; they need to make their way through the right doors and at the right time or we…
Poets of the Fall – Marko’s Birthday & the 20th Anniversary Wrap Up
Another year… gone. It is this time of year again when I take the opportunity of wishing my favourite singer of all times, Marko Saaresto, a very very Happy Birthday. You, sir, are a beacon of hope to us all and your artistry continues to be such an inspiration through the years. Thank you! This year has been a festival of good fortunes though… a nod, a look and most of all sings along… plus the bonus of a photo and a short talk finally – Christmas all year long for me🎄. The last gig I attended this year was Paris, and don’t take this the wrong way but, this…
Poets of the Fall, 20th Anniversary Tour – Gig Diaries: Alhambra in Paris, 06.11.2023
About a week ago, I had my last rendez-vous with Poets of the Fall at l’Alhambra in Paris for the first show of their last leg from the 20th Anniversary Tour in Europe. This became my eighteenth Poets of the Fall concert since 2018. November 6th, 2023 was a day filled with memories and mementos forever engraved in my heart. A very special weekend full of laughter and new encounters. I met beautiful people I know I will meet again soon. I can say this: it is now official, a new Poets of the Fall French “gang” was born that day 🥰. They’re here “By a happy mistake…” I arrived…
