Poets of the Fall – Shadow Play
It’s been a long time coming… a new post, a new look on things, new thoughts and new ideas… well, you’ll at least get the post. What is the most important thing that comes with change? I’d think it has to do with going along and taking up the new challenges head held up high… no fear and no doubt. I can feel it in the air, I can feel it young and strong Like an intoxicating dare The truth is, it sounds easy but it is as tricky and headache giving as learning to play chess or poker. What I mean is that no matter how bad you want…
Poets of the Fall – Children of the Sun
Do you know this feeling, when all signs align whether you believe in them or not… when the universe is actually screaming at you because you are not paying enough attention to the present… do you know how it feels when you suddenly hear it? I’ll tell you a crazy roller-coaster taking your head for a fast spin until you get dizzy. So, yes I believe without any unshakeable belief although that belief is based on my unwavering faith that everything happens for a reason. “Ding-Ding” moments Children of the Sun, by Poets of the Fall, was an interesting choice of song as a second single. There’s been a lot of debate among the…
Poets of the Fall in Center Stage of my heart
Poets of the Fall are in the Center Stage of my heart, although not in the sense that the song implies. Sophisticated lyrics serve that song and a melody that gives me wings. Before talking about how the song inspired me, I indulged myself in sharing with you a thought that I don’t quite understand about Poets of the Fall‘s sophistication. Why would sophisticated lyrics within that genre would have a counterproductive effect for the band? Nope… I don’t get it. Besides, what do they mean by sophisticated? Do they mean too “meaningful”? or do they mean “too subtle” to bother? or… Oh well, their loss I say! So here is how I…
Poets of the Fall – The Labyrinth
I have been wondering for a long time if I should write about The Labyrinth. It is, obviously, one of my favourite song from Clearview, if not the one… at least it would be in a parallel world since I wrote before that Clearview is my favourite song. This is just a detail though. The Labyrinth stirs very deep feelings within and I am not sure whether I can put accurate words on them or not. It is very strange for it, most often than not, moves me to tears without my having any control over them. Granted, since I am listening to Clearview on my way to work, I have learnt…
Poets of the Fall – Changing lives
I know I am using big words, but you’ll see that I am not overstating the facts, merely putting the right words on them. It is rather comforting to know that one is not alone in one’s daily struggles, but at the same time I’d feel probably much better if more people were truly happy and did not have to go through hard times. So, what of Poets of the Fall influence in all this, you might ask. In an interview from 2013 (I think it was), Marko said that when he is writing lyrics, he tries to say something meaningful, that matters. I don’t think he has to try…
Nearly a year with Poets of the Fall
Warning: this is a VERY long post, so get a cup of tea or coffee, get comfy and happy reading! Ruthless year I could not let my latest post be the last one of the year… it did not feel right because I did not really talk about the year that passed, what it brought me and what’s to come. You’d think after such a statement I’d made my case and would start… well, guess again! We can all agree that 2016 was a real dark year, with the terror that pushed entire families to go into exile; the terror again hitting cities like Nice and Berlin and all the others that I will…
