Poets of the Fall – My Dark Disquiet (official video)
It is no secret to say that My Dark Disquiet is my absolute favourite song from Poets of the Fall latest album, Ultraviolet… mostly because I say it over and over to whomever cares to listen. When the band announced a week ago that the official video would premiere today (30.09.2019), I was so excited that my heart skipped a beat and I was dancing the victory dance in my head. When I realised that Miika Hakala would be directing said video, I could not contain my joy. Finally, when I learned that the song would be featured in the game Control, I decided to get to playing it… Fair…
Poets of the Fall, Krakow – Nerdmoot in Poland, part 2
The first time I saw Poets of the Fall (Helsinki, April 2018) my husband called our “fan gathering”: Nerdmoot. It stuck… in case you were wondering. Let’s see if I remember all the names… Oksana, Ana, Susan, Aleks, Elin, Alice, Brigitte, Stef, Bethany, Benjamin, Deisi… and all of you I forgot to mention because let’s face it, age is occasionally turning my brain to scrambled eggs. 26.04.2019 Old and new friends started to stand in line in Krakow heat; some from noon, others from 15:00… the shade was more than welcome, as was the breeze. I said it before, and I say it again, friendships make such trips even more…
Poets of the Fall – The Labyrinth
I have been wondering for a long time if I should write about The Labyrinth. It is, obviously, one of my favourite song from Clearview, if not the one… at least it would be in a parallel world since I wrote before that Clearview is my favourite song. This is just a detail though. The Labyrinth stirs very deep feelings within and I am not sure whether I can put accurate words on them or not. It is very strange for it, most often than not, moves me to tears without my having any control over them. Granted, since I am listening to Clearview on my way to work, I have learnt…
Poets of the Fall – Changing lives
I know I am using big words, but you’ll see that I am not overstating the facts, merely putting the right words on them. It is rather comforting to know that one is not alone in one’s daily struggles, but at the same time I’d feel probably much better if more people were truly happy and did not have to go through hard times. So, what of Poets of the Fall influence in all this, you might ask. In an interview from 2013 (I think it was), Marko said that when he is writing lyrics, he tries to say something meaningful, that matters. I don’t think he has to try…
Poets of the Fall – Clearview
[There is an update on this post, further down. It is marked #Update – Marko at his best] Yesterday was a very special day, September 30th 2016 was Clearview‘s release day and the end of a long wait for both the fans and Poets of the Fall. Of course, in my family of two, where love rules over all else, we kept to our tradition of discovering new music together (without listening before the other). This made the whole experience extra special, however, I can tell you right now that we will drop that particular tradition in the future when it comes to Poets of the Fall. Anyway, I had decided from the…

Poets of the Fall – A splendid toolbox
Healing is a long process especially when one has what many call an “invisible illness” such as a “burn-out” (or the better term: exhaustion syndrome disorder).Today, however, I am very proud to say that I have taken yet another giant step towards recovery. There is obviously no finish line but rather a clearer path and vision of where I want to go and who I am. This post is as much about Poets of the Fall as it is about me, yours truly. You see, it doesn’t matter the tools you are using to be healthy again, as long as they work; in my case, Poets of the Fall are…
