Poets of the Fall Forever, 20 Years of an Amazing Musical Journey
Today – or rather the day after tomorrow – is the celebration of 20 amazing years of music masterfully offered to us on a platinum platter by Finnish rock band POETS OF THE FALL. As a writer, it is always nerve-wrecking to imagine people you admire so much reading your words. When these people are POETS OF THE FALL who, wordsmith Marko Saaresto, belongs to… well, I get nervous with all the what ifs screaming in my head… Truth be told, there are so many surprises throughout this article I could not be more please for Poets and for you, readers, fans and friends. We’ve all been touched to the core…
Poets of the Fall – Games songs
I have been meaning to write a bit more… and I did but elsewhere. The past few days though, I have been listening intently to my new Poets of the Fall playlist and I caught myself holding my breath again. I say again because it had not happened for a while. Don’t get me wrong, I still got touched by everything that makes Poets of the Fall… well… Poets of the Fall; I just needed some other horizon for a while – less Poets, more… others. New playlist… Again!? Well, yeah… I mean I get bored easily, so I need to spice things up or tone them down a little.…
Poets of the Fall – Shallow
I am waiting… not for things to start because they have; not for change because it is constant and ever so present in every decision I make. Yet, I really am waiting… for inspiration to knock me over, done! So, no; and as I am waiting, I am getting impatient to listen to Jay Ray‘s song Striven featuring Marko Saaresto, indeed, I am becoming somewhat restless… or at least, my “blog-y” fingers are. But in the end, all I was waiting for was to write a new blog post for which I had already picked the theme obviously; as usual, though, a more pressing idea showed up at my door. Perfect…
POTF – Someone Special, one year or so later
There are songs that need attention more than once, and Someone Special from Poets of the Fall first album Signs of Life is definitely one of them. I am not repeating myself, I’d just like to look at it from another perspective that applies today in a different way than when I first wrote about it a year or so ago (To all my someone special – published on May 7th 2016). I am not interpreting the song… I just use it to tell you about My Someone Special. Courage 2017 marks my tenth year wedding anniversary (June 16th to be exact) and while I have told you quite a bit…
Poets of the Fall – Stay, the oddest of cues
I don’t know about you, but today was an odd day, which doesn’t mean that it was a bad one, just odd. I have been working on Misfit at Heart since very early this morning, constantly reminding myself that I needed to write a new post… and soon. Then I heard it, Marko‘s voice singing like a whisper in my ear, almost taunting me: It’s the little things, little things, little things That make the world. What does he mean by that? What is it that he wants me to write about? Don’t worry, I am not crazy – or maybe just a little – but like every other person I talk to…
POTF – Everything Fades… inspiration
I thought today would be a writing-free day since I posted something “kinda” new yesterday, however, it would seem that my fingers are itchy for typing… what, you might ask? hmm, anything I suppose. I could of course translate the posts that need translating in French, but let’s not get carried away… it’s still Sunday after all. Now, yesterday afternoon I wrote something in my notebook that reads: next post Crystalline. Lovely! But not today, no. Today, I might as well just go back in time as a little experiment, for which evidently I won’t tell the purpose. Before I go on though, there is something I have been wondering about…
