POTF – Someone Special, one year or so later
There are songs that need attention more than once, and Someone Special from Poets of the Fall first album Signs of Life is definitely one of them. I am not repeating myself, I’d just like to look at it from another perspective that applies today in a different way than when I first wrote about it a year or so ago (To all my someone special – published on May 7th 2016). I am not interpreting the song… I just use it to tell you about My Someone Special. Courage 2017 marks my tenth year wedding anniversary (June 16th to be exact) and while I have told you quite a bit…
POTF – Can you hear me – “Compassion is the answer”
Bees in your bonnet … Clairepeek? Well, yes as a matter of fact! Yesterday and early this morning, I’ve had my shoes on my head and my feet in my bonnet… an “easy” situation or imagery inspired by a lot of friendly chats here and there, some interesting tweets and some very special guests on one of my all too famous playlists… YYEESS!! Poets of the Fall of course… Although, I hope Joanne Rowling will excuse my borrowing her Harry Potter line for my header, but it seems that the bees had no desire to vanish that easily. They play (not the bees you understand!) this song that makes me really…
Poets of the Fall – Crystalline
Do you remember that on my last post I wrote that I’d run a little experiment. After a full week, I can say that the results are inconclusive but at the same time, confirmed a few things. This post might be considered as an extension of the said experiment, at least in part. Furthermore, it might well be the last post of the year, but you never know, my fingers might get itchy during the Christmas break. Anyway, I recall reading a review about Clearview where the writer was very enthusiastic about the album but kind of shot Crystalline dead, saying that it was probably the worst song the band…
Poets of the Fall – The Child in Me
Last week, I promised I’d come with a new post about Poets of the Fall‘s song The Child in Me. What I have been wondering since is if it is another coming of age song like Once Upon a Playground Rainy. It would seem that the song title is rather self-explanatory which means not too much digging, at least at first glance. But, it is somewhat a Smoke and Mirrors meet Rewind kind of feeling – lyric-wise. Anyway, go figure why this particular track made me happy as I drove home last week… the lyrics are not particularly cheerful so why? I think that it might have something to do with, first and foremost, the intro……
Never lose track of the essential
Lately – read the past eight months or so – I have been writing mostly about Poets of the Fall and it is as it should be since they do make me happy, and writing about their music is more therapeutic than talking about myself to a wall. Don’t worry, I am not experiencing such a dreadful thing – it is just an image, my therapist is amazing. Anyway, it has been two days that every time I drive home from work, my thoughts are in disarray and both times, I have had this ranting post writing itself in my head, but when I am finally home I have neither the energy or the…
Temple of Thought – Poets of the Fall inspired
Yesterday, as I was driving home from work, I was contemplating the idea of writing a new post since it had been a while… I have to tell you, it is not as easy as you think to come up with something to say that you might relate to; anyway, since the automatic pilot on my car was on – read that I was stuck behind a truck and could not overtake it – I had plenty of time to think in and outside the box. Of course, I had a little help from my favourites poets, Poets of the Fall, and their song Temple of Thought, from the album Temple of Thought……
