Poets of the Fall – The Sweet Escape 2020
Now that we are way past 2021’s threshold, it seems that not much has changed yet. Because it is a rather disturbing observation, my heart craves The Sweet Escape only Poets of the Fall is able to provide π. You’d say “but you’ve already written loads about The Sweet Escape!” π. I’d say, “Indeed, but as you may have noticed last year, PotF – Misfit Heart has not covered all the songs from Alexander Theatre Sessions (ATS) and one of the missing tracks is?… πΆπ Yes! Precisely!“. Don’t forget to get your copy of Alexander Theatre Sessions! π On CD: ALEXANDER THEATRE SESSIONS On Cassette: ALEXANDER THEATRE SESSIONS, CASSETTE On…

Alexander Theatre Sessions Wrap Up Interview 2020
Last Friday, the Alexander Theatre Sessions came to end with the last episode of the season: Carnival of Rust. Today, it is the last wrap up of the Alexander Theatre Sessions on Poets of the Fall Social media. It is with a small pinch to the heart that I say goodbye to these beautiful moments when time stood still once a month for a whole year. Although, goodbye is not farewell, I thought I’d give you all some extra time to enjoy it all. So while Poets of the Fall was busy wrapping up the Alexander Theatre Sessions on Social Media with great “Behind the Scenes” photos, I chanced and…
Poets of the Fall – Carnival of Rust 2020
“I’m afraid, this is the end! I bid you all a very fond farewell … goodbye!” (*) Whoosh! and just like that 2020 is coming to an end – Great! – but so are Poets of the Fall‘s Alexander Theatre Sessions… “We want more!” cheers the crowd. The band’s parting gift is an incredible version of Carnival of Rust. It is the song, according to Spotify Wrap, that I listened to the most, this year. Go figure! It is the Poets song that is the most reacted to on YouTube and if memory serves, it is one of the songs that got me hooked on Poets of the Fall –…
Poets of the Fall – Rebirth 2020
Rebirth… the song I wake up to every morning; Rebirth… the song one of my friends call sad & hopeless, but which I cannot help feeling joy and warmth when I hear it… Rebirth: the song that I cannot be without, ever. I’ve been working on this article for over a week, and it has never been so hard to write about a Poets of the Fall song. There is something strange at work when Rebirth is playing. I have been listening to the song a whole morning but I’ve been drawing a blank… like being numb. This is the only song from Poets of the Fall that has such…
Poets of the Fall – Children of the Sun 2020
The experience of listening before watching worked so well before that I renewed it with Children of the Sun 10th episode of Poets of the Fall Alexander Theatre Sessions. As I always get overenthusiastic with everything that has to do with Poets of the Fall I tend to be a bit forgetful about let’s say: video descriptions π So, when I heard the strings at the beginning of Children of the Sun, I thought to myself, cool Captain found a way to add strings with his magical wand… or something, which sounds totally bonkers, but not totally impossible you’d have to agree. Anyhow, I listened to Children of the Sun…
Poets of the Fall – Jealous Gods 2020
Jealous Gods… Episode 9 of the Poets of the Fall Alexander Theatre Sessions. Dear Markus, Dear Marko, I wanted to write this whole post in a letter-type style, but it turned out to be a bit too impractical. As it is your last session, just the two of you on stage, I thought I’d make this post a bit more special… even if it turns out to be weirder than more special :D. I missed the premiere, again. This time, I was on a short vacation in my home country: France. I checked the video while preparing my dad’s birthday party, so I did not really pay attention the way…
